Cuyahoga Valley National Park

We stumbled upon this park one year on the way back from the out west parks. Even though it is only 5 or so hours from our house, we’d never heard of it. Partly because it was so new. Having limited time, we made sure to grab maps for the next time we were in the area. Which happened 2 years later on the way to Twinsburg. This time we were equipped with our bikes and bike trailer for the kids. Canal towpaths are the best places to ride bikes with trailers, flat, mostly smooth, and with great views the whole way.

Of course, this place is most famous for the train rides you can take.

My favorite things to do here

  • Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail

Things I want to come back to do

  • More of the towpath trail
  • Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad

Fun Facts

  • Became a National park in 2000
