A stones (or cannons) throw away from the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, this amazing park is accessed by driving up into the tall hills surrounding the Tennessee river. The views are stunning, and the visitor center really informative. Not being a very good student of history in high school, I never learned a lot about the war between the states. Learning about it at the actual sites is much better anyway. Just the thought of having to face these cannon from down below is enough to give anyone the chills. Good short hiking trails and interpretive signs here, make this part of one of America’s best history lessons.

I have visited this site, but I have not done a blog post yet. I started with the National Parks. I’m then going to work through the Monuments. Then the rest. Stay Tuned! Add a comment if you like.
